For Disc and Brake Drum Systems, Meets Or Exceeds Specification SAE J1703 and Fully Complies w/ Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 116 and Recommended For All Hydraulic Drum, Disc Braking Systems and Hydraulic Clutches Requiring DOT 3 Fluid.
Visually inspect your brake fluid once or twice a year. Brake fluid should be clear or translucent. If the fluid is rust-colored, moisture might have gotten in and a flush might be warranted. If your brake fluid is black or has a burnt smell, your braking system likely has a problem that requires attention, not just a flush. If it is below the recommended level, it might have a leak.
